The pastor at church has been doing a series called "Refreshingly Simple: Doing What Matters Most." Basically it's a series on family, and I loved today's message. He talked about how sometimes our lives seem to be SO busy that we forget to take time for the simple things. He spoke on how time moves so fast and our children grow so fast that we find ourselves eager to move on to the next stage in life (like saying good-bye to diapers!) and then missing the time that has passed, regretting that we didn't take the time to enjoy what was a time we can never get back.
These pictures of Aaron and RJ are just that...little moments we will never get back...and I'm so glad I have a husband who knows that. He is just simply amazing. I remember being a little girl and curling up in my dad's lap. There was nothing more soothing that the low roar of his voice in his chest. It is one of my favorite memories from my childhood...and it had nothing to do with playing a sport or what the newest toy was...it had everything to do with love. I love that my girls are going to have those same memories.
Now on to Aaron...did I mention how fantastic he is? I have written several times how exhausted I have been...which I can thankfully say I feel like that is coming to an end...I've had a bit more energy this weekend! Aaron keeps the girls on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I came home from work on Wednesday and Aaron had our bedroom, the living room, and the kitchen clean! He even had dinner prepared, complete with apple turn-overs for dessert. Not to mention he bathes the girls EVERY night...and never complains about it. He is just one of the biggest blessings in my life and I hope he knows how much I love him.
So, my new goal is to take the time to enjoy what precious little time I have with my family and to not let our life get too busy...and to remember what matters most.

OH MY GOSH!! Your family is beautiful! I'm so glad I finally checked my blog! My email is hansinogirl@tx.rr.com. Send me an email and we'll catch up! You know, your dad was Sydney's bus driver last year! We loved having him! I'm so glad you stumbled up on my little blog!
LOVE the simple reminder...thanks so much!! ((HUGS))
J bathes the girls each night too, and I'm so grateful for that break! He doesn't consider it a big deal, but for me it's HUGE! Bath time is an ordeal for me. :0)
