Artistic Expression

Now that I officially feel like it's summer...with summer school over and all but one of my workshops done...I have to find a way to entertain 2 preschoolers...yikes! One would think that a teacher of all people would be full of ideas...but there are so many things I want to do around the house (nesting) and I have to do it in spurts (no energy)...that I find myself scrambling for things to do with the girls so they don't get too cranky! So...today we painted for a bit. I get so used to referring to the girls as "the girls" and I often think of them as one in the same, but when we do little crafts or art, I am reminded that there is a LITTLE age difference between them and I love seeing the developmental differences between them (that's the teacher in me:) So...these are the masterpieces from today. The top one is KA's...notice the rainbow, tree, flowers, grass...and the little "man" on the side is her cousin Carson...she said he was playing outside at Caroline's house. The bottom one is RJ's...the stripes at the top are a rainbow...the brown and green area is her tree...and you can see the starting of a flower in the bottom left corner...I think KA snuck around the board and tried to help her, but didn't get too far. Anyone else think this is so cool? KA's art has really developed over the past year and I love that RJ is right on track behind her. They will both be in "school" in the fall on Tues and Thurs and I can't wait to see what things look like next year at this time...it will be fun to compare!!

That is a great thing to document! You give me such great ideas to do with my little one! You're getting close to meeting your baby boy! Are you ready???
